Is Prophecy just for a few?  I believe it is a gift of the spirit that we should ask for, desire, covet.  I know that I have begun to develop this gift after taking a class called "Led by the Spirit".  Do I declare that I am a prophet? No!  But -I do believe that I can hear God for myself and on behalf of others.  We need to seek it.  We need to ask.  We need to yield to the Spirit -and listen/perceive.  Like anything - it takes practice.  I liked the class because it was a very safe place to practice.

• Eph 4:15 Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ. ESV

• Rom 12:6 Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; ESV

• 1 Cor 14:1-5 Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy. 2 For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit. 3 On the other hand, the one who prophesies speaks to people for their upbuilding and encouragement and consolation. 4 The one who speaks in a tongue builds up himself, but the one who prophesies builds up the church. 5 Now I want you all to speak in tongues, but even more to prophesy.
